However, if you already have your own land or have found the site of your dreams, we would welcome the opportunity to be “your GC.” As your general contractor, we will build your dream home with the same integrity, attention to detail and green building techniques we use every day. How would the process work? The outline below provides a general framework for the process. When you contact us, we will set up an initial meeting to provide more details and answer any questions you may have.
1) Initial meeting to review the process and discuss options for a house plan. We will provide information on purchasing a house plan through books or the internet, or creating a custom set of plans.
2) MEJJ will review selected set of plans, confirm lot size, lot setbacks, RI building codes, etc. Order plans.
3) Homebuyer will provide to MEJJ Development a deposit for the costs associated with plan reviews and completion.
4) Discuss customization options.
5) Finalize plans and options.
6) MEJJ will prepare a budget and draft a contract for your home.
7) Once the contract has been signed, MEJJ will have a surveyor stake your lot and the exact location of your home. When your home location is approved, MEJJ will break ground for your dream home.
8) Several months later, depending on the complexity and options specified, we will proudly present you keys to your dream home!
